It’s hard to know about the “hole-in-the-wall” bars or the “best meal in town” when you are traveling. Sometimes you yearn to stay anywhere but a stale hotel, speak the language a little and get a home-cooked meal. Or perhaps you love entertaining out of town guests and talk late into the evening about global politics? Couchsurfing.org is the place for you!

A friend of mine was telling me about this site and it looks like you can become a member and be part of a huge network of international folks who want to share experiences and/or their spare bed with other world strangers. The concept fascinates me so I’ll be signing up soon and checking out how I can host future guests or perhaps give peeps a tour of Puddletown. Stay tuned for an update!
