It all began by a 12 year old in Bend, Oregon who wanted to make sure animals in the local animal shelter have food and the website www.freekibble.com started. On the front page you can answer a trivia question once a day and help provide free kibble. You can only do one trivia question a day, but what a fun way to contribute to sweet animals.

So here’s a story to ponder. A man passes away only for his wife to discover that the lottery ticket they purchased was worth 10 Mil. The man’s wife was upset by his death and only checked the lottery ticket a month later to discover it’s value. It really blew her and her children away. Their comments were that their dad would have been amused and perhaps a little jealous. The man and his wife had a ritual of buying a weekly lottery ticket, just like many folks, so you never know.
Which gets me to start wondering what other people would do if they won the lottery in these economic times. Statically, most people who win lose it rather quickly, unfortunately due to the poor management and loss of control. What would do you if you won 10 Million dollars? How could you make the world better or help your family and friends? It’s pretty cool to think about the small changes you could make in people’s lives if you had some financial freedom.

Happy New Year!
I was in a Barnes and Noble bookstore recently and noticed this book on the shelf - “Every Monday Matters” and started reading it. It has some inspirational ideas for creating change and making the world a better place. Beginning with each Monday, there’s a cause or an awareness they address and suggestions on what you can do.
One of the more pointed suggestions was for the music and arts - they suggested donating an instrument to a non-profit that supports and encourages kids to play music in school. I have a old silver trumpet that I had from Junior High/High School that’s been collecting dust in my basement for years. The idea of a young girl or boy that has a passion to play an instrument and with my help, could learn to play music with my trumpet, well - it made me a little teary-eyed!
Check out there site and see what you think - everymondaymatters.com - see if it inspires you to do something different for your family, friends, and community.
